May 2019 Monroe Prairie ATV/UTV Club Meeting Minutes

May meeting of 2019 at Ponderosa Pines was called to order at 10:02 a.m.  by President Bubba.

Bubba mentioned the tools donated at trail clean-up. Thanked doner

Final vote for Town of Adams is May 21st, 2019
Ron gave up date on trail work days. 32 club members the first weekend and 47 the second. 48 miles of trails were cleaned up.
County Z from Akron to Romano's and County Rd D to 9th have been opened and signed by Rome
Bubba mentioned that the club would be doing the maintenance on the Jefferson trail to earn extra money for the club. It is paid out of the grant money. The club would not be doing any fund raiser towards the lease agreement.
Preston says they will open up all roads if Adams does. owns land to the flea and wants access to his motel for ATV/UTV access
Motion by Bubba and seconded by Bob Young to donate to Lions Club.Was approved for donation to the Lions for fire works.
Don't forget to bring in County Market receipts. Can give to Carole, Char or Sally Young who is taking care of getting them into County Market in May and November
Power Lifters are on the plane today. Shane has been invited to Purtorica Rico.
Poker Run June 4th at Sherwood Lodge chaired by Jim and Candy.
Poker Run June 29th at Petenwell Pub chaired by Ron Peterson.
At May board meeting it was discussed to eliminate food  at the Poker Runs and to allow the chairs to determine the split of pay out money.
At the meeting when Bubba talked about what the board had decided. Bev Sweet objected that there should be any money coming back to the club. That it should be 100% pay out.
She made a motion. Seconded by Keith Bylewski. Club members voted and motion was carried.
Club ride June 29th thru Necedah Wildlife. Meet at Trinity Church on Highway 21 at 9a.m.. Annie has a guide reserved for day. Lunch is on eash rider.
Senior Fair May 22nd from 10-3. Bob and Sally Young have offered there time to set up table and answer questions.
Trails End for sale. Still to determine site for Bear and Coon Hunt.
50/50 was won by Denny Edwards. $80 to Denny and $85 to the club
Pocni will be chaired by Jim and Keith at Ponderosa Pines July 6th 12 noon

THURS. MARCH 21, 2019 @ SHERWOOD LODGE

 

Meeting called to order at 6:30pm with the pledge of allegiance being

said.  We had 52 members present.

The minutes from February's meeting were read.  Bubba made a motion

to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all approved.

The treasurer's report was given.

Bob Billings made a motion to accept the report as given, Ron

Peterson seconded it, all approved. The club was visited by two Adams-Friendship powerlifters, Shane Kierstyn & Dylan Wysocky.  They will be going to Tokyo Japan for the
International Power Lifting.  They approached the club to seek out a donation

to help these young men help fund their trip.  It is a great accomplishment

for them to represent all of us.  They were telling about some of the costs which

is $1300 for plane tickets, $190 per night at a motel, etc...club member Ron

Peterson made a motion to donate $300 each...Larry Bennett seconded it, all

approved on the condition they will come to our June meeting and report how 

they did and show us their medals.  They agreed.  Then one of our club mem-

bers suggested we pass a hat around the meeting to donate a personally.  One

of the young men's parent helped count the money, we raised another $350 for

the 2 young men to split.  We wished them safe travel and GOOD LUCK—we

will be waiting to hear from them in June.

Jerry Weissinger reported on the new routes in Rome.  Both have passed...

Z to Romano's and D from 9th to Hwy. 13.  Monday April 15@ 6:pm, meeting at

Court House on second floor about this.

Dave Elgan reported he is optomistic that all roads in Adams will be opened.

  Easton road routes will be opened.  Will start signing next month.

Bubba was asked by City of Adams/Public Works if the club would be

interested in donating or helping pay for signing.  Bubba bowed out of the club

vote on this.  Our vice-President made a motion that the club give a monetary

donation with the stipulation that the city goes and ask the businessses for

donations.  Larry Bennett proposed we donate $200.  Ron Peterson suggested

$300 because that was the amount we have donated in the past to other town

ships.  Larry Bennett agreed with Ron and made a motion to donate $300 with the

stipulation the City goes to the different businesses asking for donations,  Dave

Elgan seconded it, all approved.  Bubba will take the clubs decision back to the

City at the April meeting. 

Ron Peterson reported on trail clean up.  If anyone goes out working on

the trails, keep track of your hours and let Ron know so we can get reimbur

sement.  Ron also reported that trail 10, 4 & 6 will definitely need brushing

because it didn't get done last year.   Trails will not open till May 19th unless

approved earlier. WATVA's annual meeting will be April 12, 13,& 14 at Holiday Inn in

 Stevens Point.

 Please save your County Market receipts and turn them in to Sally Young

or any officers.  The last time the club received $202.75 and it went to the

Exceptional Citizens of Adams county.  Thank you for saving and keep it up.

The Road Rally on June 29th will not be at Trail's End but possibly at

the Inn of the Pines.  We will update you at a later date.

The 50/50 brought in $175...$88 to winner,  Mark Roehl and $87 to the

club.  Mark donated $58 back to the club...thank you &  Congratulations Mark.

The next meeting is Thurs. April 18th at the Inn of the Pines at 6:30 pm.

Our PR guy, Mike Wood, said to let him know if you are not receiving

emails from the club.  If you have not given Mike your email address yet

please do so.

Thursday,  February 21, 2019@ The Lure...6:30pm

                  

Meeting called to order at 6:31pm with the Pledge of Allegiance being

said.  We had 35 members present.

The minutes from November were read.  Bubba made a motion to

accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all approved.

The treasurer's report was given.  We had an ending balance of

Bubba made a motion to accept the report as given, Bob Billings seconded it,

all approved.

The next board meeting will be Thursday, March 14 at Friar Tucks, 6:30pm.

Char Brockman will be checking on a postage machine for the club.

The club received a reimbursement check from the county for $1,953 on

the trails and routes.

Town of Adams is considering opening all roads.

Easton is in a meeting tonight about opening their township/approved

just legalizing.

Eric Edwards is having a class on ATV Enforcement and Safety on Feb.

23 at 10:am at the Irrigation Station.

Please keep saving your County Market receipts as we will receive 1%

and the money will go to the Exceptional Citizens of Adams County.

January 30, 2019, K&M sent the club a letter apologizing for any poor

service you may have received due to the hectic time of the building switch

over.

The 50/50 raffle took in $125; $65 to the club, $60 to club members

Barb & Paul Bonde.

The next meeting will be Thursday, March 21 at Sherwood Lodge, 6:30pm.

Te results of the survey at Christmas party about food at different events

were reviewed, results are:  at the Poker Runs everyone will be buying their own

food.  At the Bear & Coon hunt, Halloween Ride, and the Scavenger Hunt, the

club will buy the food.

Monroe Prairie UTV/AV Club Meeting Minutes

Thursday, October 18, 2018 – Pineland Campground

 

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm with 25-members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.  The minutes from September 2018 meeting were read.  Bubba made a motion to accept the minutes as read.  Bob Sweet seconded it, all approved.

The treasurer’s report was given.  We now have over 400-paid memberships.  About 40 members have not renewed.

 

The Powerlifters Club members Sam and Angeline, that the club donated to so that they could travel to South Africa for competition, came the meeting to report on how they did and what it was like there. They reported is was a 24-hour plane ride.  They reported that they were there for 10-days, traveling $6,700.00 cost for Sam, Angeline & his Mom & Dad.  Sam received 2nd place, (Sam ranked 5th overall )  Angeline ranked 3rd overall.  Angeline said the food was good, a steak dinner for 2 was $10.00.

Update on the Bear & Coon Hunt. We had 88-riders, 11-new members, $78.00 carried over from last year, and $76.00 added to the Bear Fund from this year.  Nobody found the Bear this year.

Bubba talked about people throwing cans and sticks.  There is & was a lot of work that goes into events like this.

 

Mike Wood will be preparing an Advisory Survey Form for members to be filled out at the Christmas Party.

 

Bubba welcomed new members, Kevin & Jordan & Jessica Krause

Bubba reported on the K&M Sales & Service Grand Opening and new location. Mike Wood and Bubba had a booth setup advertising our club.  Over 800-people walked through the doors. Stone Ridge Meats of Wautoma had samples there.  Our Club picked up 5-new members here at the Grand Opening.

Bubba reported on Ron Peterson’s condition from his ATV accident. He has to wear a collar for 3-6 weeks.  We wish him a very speedy recovery.

The Ballots will go out in the November mail.  3-year Director Position is open with Ron Peterson.  Bubba re-nominated Ron Peterson and Larry Bennett seconded it.

 

The Halloween Ride is next Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018.  The “off road trails” close on November 1, 2018.

Parade of Trees will be on November 19th to December 17th, 2018.  Club member, Sally Young, is donating a tree with the Clubs Name and decorating it.

 

The 50/50 Raffle took in $91.46 to go to the Club, $45.00 to winner Marless Biskobing.

Bev Sweet brought up the possibility if the club would consider having all club meetings at one spot, Monroe Prairie Town Hall.

 

The next meeting will be at the Spot in the Woods on Thursday, November 15th, 2018 – 6:30 pm.

Bernie Ramsden reported that the Town of Adams referendum is Nov 4th, 2018 for opening all roads in Adams.

 

An order was placed with Club member, Arch Printing for new shirts and bandanas.

Monroe Prairie UTV/ATV Club Meeting Minutes

Thursday, September, 15, 2018 – Wagon Wheel

 

Meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by VP Larry Bennett. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

We welcomed new member, Merrilee Marchese.   Also, welcomed Tony & Linda Krause.  Larry also introduced the clubs board of directors.  Sheriff Wollin came to speak to the Club as the elections are coming closer.  He has been in office since 2011, and is running again.  He stated they are going to be using Roche-A-Cri-Clinic for recovery for addictions.  Spoke on drug program. The Chamber set up the debate for October 17, 2018.  He also spoke about the jail status.  It was built just as a jail as is now it is used for everything, dispatch, sheriff, and jail.  ATV/UTVers can have open intoxicants Sherriff Woolen stated.  Sherriff Wollin also stated he is neutral on ATV/UTV routes.  The school is also adding another resource officer.  He said Quincy is working towards contract services with the department from Memorial Day to Labor Day. - Weekends only. 

There were no minutes to be read.  The treasures report was given. Wayne Spletter made a motion to accept, Sally Spletter seconded, all approved.

 

Harold Stewart reported on the trails and talked about the Bear and Coon Hunt.  Be at Trails End at 6:00 p.m.  $10.00 for members, $15.00 for Non-Members.  $2.00 extra for the Bear License.  ½ pot.  Have a good spot light.

 

Town of Rome Supervisor, Jerry Weissenberg commented on why “D” trail was closed. The city can buy the land with low interest.  Once the land is gone, it’s is gone!  Write letters to the County Board asking them to buy the land.  We are 19th in the state for tourism $$$$.

 

Ron Peterson is home after his ATV Accident.  Bill Klinker reported on the Road Rally/Poker Run.  10 more people that last year.  One couple got lost, next year same weekend and same place.

 

Mo’s Fund Raiser is 9/22/18 – NOON to 6:00 pm.  K&M Grand Opening is Oct. 6, 2018.  Halloween Ride will be on October 6, 2018 at 6:00 pm. 

Turn in County Market receipts, the Club receives 1% and will be given back to Exceptional Citizens of Adams County.

Next meeting will be on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Pineland Camping. 6:30 pm.

 

 50/50 took $145.00, $72.00 to Jim Gourlie, $73.00 to the Club.

Saturday, August 18, 2018 @ Petenwell Pub...10:am

                   Meeting called to order at 10:am with reciting the Pledge of

          Allegiance.  We had 70 members present.  That is a new attendance

          record.

                   The minutes from July's meeting were read.  Bubba made a

          motion to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all


          approved.  Meeting today at 10:am, Poker Run immediately following

          today. 

                   The Treasurer's report given. 

                 The election is coming up for Sheriff.  Brent York is running

          against our current sheriff, Sam Wollin,  Brent has been with the

          Sheriff's office  since 1995.  Brent wanted to come talk to the club.

                   Bubba welcomed new members.  

                   The “sand bowl”, DCM came in, 13 hours of work, bill for

          $1040. 

                   On Friday September 7 at 11:am there is a VIP ride at Dyracuse-

          rain or shine.  From John Sonnenburg. 

                   Jim and Candy Eidler are chairing the Poker Run here at Pub

          today. 

                   On August 25th, 2018 Bill & Anne Klinkner are chairing the

          Road and Trail Rally at Trail's End. 

                   The Bear and Coon hunt is scheduled for September 29.  Bubba

          explained to new club members about how the Bear & Coon hunt is

          run. 

                   Club member, Dale Oberbeck is chairing a ride in Juneau County

          on Thursday August 23...rain or shine.  Approximately 80-100 miles.

          Meet and park behind Subway; behind Municipal building in Necedah

          at 8:30am.  Will do lunch.  Bring extra gas if your machine doesn't

          have a lot of range.  Any questions, call Dale at 708-420-4220.

                   Jody Voit, owner of Spot in the Woods, donated to the club,    $1400 for the signing to get to her business.  The cost was $900 but

 

          she said the rest is for all the club does.  Thank you Jody!

                   K&M is having their Grand Opening on October 6, 2018 and

          would like the club to set up a booth.  Club members is planning a ride

          to get to the Grand Opening.  They will meet at the Big Flats Fire

          Department at 9:30am.

                   The 50/50 brought in $300/ $150 to club, $150 to club member,

          Dan Lyman. 

           `       The next meeting will be at Wagon Wheel on Sat. Sept. 15.

                                   Saturday, July 21, 2018 @ Ponderosa Pines

 

                   Meeting called to order at 10:am with the Pledge of Allegiance

          being said.  We had 45 members present.

                   The minutes from June's meeting were read.  Bubba made a

          motion to accept the minutes as read, Jim Noeske seconded it, all

          approved.

                   The treasurer's report was given.

                   Membership update from Mike Wood:  441 family memberships,

          144 of which not renewed.

                   Jim Noeske gave the picnic update.  We fed 120 people, our

          count was 116—they only charged us for 116 plates.  The food bill

          was $1,015 + $153 tip =$1168.  The 50/50 winner was Dave Freeman,

          won $150, the other half went to the club.  The baskets brought in

          $363, the jug of oil and two coupon books brought in $24, clothing

          sales brought in $308, and the people who paid at the door brought in

          $258. 

                   Ron P. quoted in reference to the sand “bowl” to fill it in would

          be approximately $80 an hour and could take 3 hours.

                   City of Adams went to council...it passed 8-1 for all the roads in

          Adams to be opened to atv/utv except Highway 13.  November

          elections to vote on atv routes to get into town.

                   Ron Peterson brought up another issue—they are making another

          bowl on the front side where the old bowl has been roped off.  Bubba

          says can use cameras.

                   People have asked if possibly we can have the picnic at Ponderosa

          Pines again. 

                   Jim and Candy Eidler are running the Poker Run on August 18

          at Petenwell Pub following the meeting.

                   The Road & Trail Rally run by Bill & Anne Klinkner, on August

          25 from Inn of the Pines has been moved to Trail's End from 10:30-

          4:30.  Will be eating at Trail's End, there will be a band that night

          called, “Hell Cat's and Bad Habits starting at 7:pm.

 

 

                   There will be a fundraiser for Mo's for the crossing of Hwy. 13

          to help them off set the cost of $4000 for black top and culvert.  It will     be September 22, 2018 @ NOON.  Mo has also been in contact with

          Allied gas to put in pump for gas.

                   The Bear and Coon hunt is September 28th.

                   The 50/50 took in $164, $82 to Ron Peterson, $82 to the club.

                   Our next meeting will be August 18, at Petenwell Pub.

Trails and routes. Bubba reported Tuesday City of Adams ordinance goes to counsel

Parade is on the 4th of July. Meet at fairgrounds at 9a.m. Decorations will be there. Will spend up to $325.00 on candy and dog treats

18 and under must wear helmets, seat belts for utv's 

Picnic RSVP's have been sent out. Respond by June 30th for food count Will be held at July 7th at Ponderosa Pines starting at noon. 

Road Rally July 28th has been cancelled at Camelot but will be at Trails End if someone will chair.

Bob Legate stepped up and offered to chair

Current family membership has reached 428

                                Thursday April 19th, 2018 @ Antonio's in the Pines

 

                   Meeting called to order at 630 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance being

          said.  We had a record-breaking attendance of 60 club members...thank you for

          attending! 

                   The minutes from March's meeting were read and Bubba made a motion

          to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all approved.

                   The treasurer's report was given.  .

          Bubba made a motion to accept  the treasurer's report as given, Bob Billings

          seconded it, all approved.  Char also reported the club paid $1,497.77 to the

          Strongs Prairie township which in return they paid the County for the signage

          of  Cty, Z and Cty. J.

                   Bubba welcomed any new members to the club.

                   Dave Elgan went to the Annual township of Adams meeting.  Thank you

          Dave for attending.

                   It was also reported that we lost trails 11,12,&13 around Dyracuse Pond.

                   Town of Strongs Prairie had issues with signage in the township.

                   Bubba made a motion, after taking it to the board, to temporarily close

          the transfer site trail located on Cumberland Ave. 

                   The Work-n-Play is next weekend at Camelot. There is a lot of work to

          be done.

                   Jim Gourlie made mention he was happy to see the website up-to-date.

                   The club will have order forms for clothing at the club meetings.

                   Ron Peterson talked to Linda Wormet at Sports n More.  She charges

          $10 for small club emblem and $28 for large emblem.  Furnish your own

          sweatshirt or jacket.

                   Our Poker Runs will be called Road Rally's or Fun Rally's.

                   A friend of Bubba's has a handy man business, if interested please see

          Bubba for his number.

                   June 16's Road Rally at Moose Morgans had no chair but now Don, Toad

          Jim and Bob will chair.  Thanks Guys!

                   No 50/50 drawing this time.

                   Our next meeting will be our first Sat. meeting at Lucy's(Little Oles) on

          May 19th.

Thurs. February 15, 2018 @ The Lure

Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance being said. We had 26 members present.

The minutes from January's meeting were read. Bubba madea motion to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all approved.

No Treasurer's report was given as Char was on vacation. Bubba reported on routes: pink lathes, that show where signs go, are up on Z, one mile south of 21 to one mile north of 21. Bubba also reported he talked with the Police Chief of Adams and Bubba suggested the routes we would like to see opened.

Bubba went to a meeting at Parker Lake Lodge in Oxford. He met with Erik Edwards, President of South Adams County Road Runners club, Jackson County. They are just starting up their club with approximately 40 members. They talked with Bubba try to get information of what is needed to start a club. Randy Harden from

WATVA was there.

Harold reported on trails. New trails will open this Spring. We won't have maintenance money until July so will be volunteer work but may possibly be able to bank those hours until grant money comes in.

The board approved a 40 in. X 6 ft. utility trailer for $300. Bubba approved this and Ron Peterson purchased it.

There is a change in our calendar. The club picnic has been switched to July 7, 2018 at Ponderosa Pines at NOON.

The map committee has met and are in the process of working on the new maps. The map committee consists of Jim Eidler, Bob Billings, Harold Stewart, Ron Peterson, Larry Bennett and Bubba.

Mo's culvert and black top will be done as soon as weather permits.

Remember, when you chair or co-chair two events, you will receive free dues. Our next meeting will be Thurs. March 15 @ Sherwood Lodge at 6:30 pm. The next board meeting will be March 8 @Lure.

Thurs. March 15, 2018 @ Sherwood Lodge

Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm with Pledge of Allegiance being said. We had a record breaking attendance of 58 members. This is awesome and thank you to everyone for your attendance.

The minutes from February's meeting were read and Bubba made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Sam 2 seconded it, all approved. Bubba welcomed new members.

The Treasurer's report was given. Bill Hicks made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report as given, Ron Fiegle seconded it, all approved.

Jody from Spot in the Woods wants to pay for her own signs going to her establishment as she doesn't have time to have a fund raiser for the club.

Bubba with map committee met Monday might and will meet again Sat. to get the maps started. Bubba is hoping the maps can be finished and back by May 1, 2018.

Work-n-plays will be coming up and there is a lot of work to be done so these trails will be ready to open. The trails will need to be brushed back 14-16 feet. April work-n-play will be at Camelot, May work-n-play will be at Trails End.

Bubba met with Colburn township 2 weeks ago –opening whole township.

Mike Keyser is putting in Course 3 at the golf course (he has 7000 acres) and will be losing trails 3, 10 and 9. This will not happen till 2019.

We will start having order forms for shirts at meetings.

ATV Campground should be in this Spring.

County Z is being widened so they will be making bike lanes. ATV/UTV's are not allowed to ride in bike lanes so stay out of them or you will be fined.

Save your County Market receipts for the club and turn in to any of the officers. The club will receive 1 percent of total receipts then we turn over that money to the Exceptional Citizens of Adams Cty.

The 50/50 took in $191, $96 to the club, $95 to Lloyd Ebert.

Thursday January 18, 2018@ Petenwell Pub

Meeting called to order at 6:30pm. With pledge of allegiance being said. We had 47 members present. The minutes from November were read and Bubba made a motion to approve the minutes as read, Jim Eidler

seconded it, all approved.

The treasurer's report was given. Bubba made a motion to accept the treasurer's report as given, Jim Eidler seconded it, all approved.

The update of the Christmas party: The Christmas party this year was at Dellwood Pavillion. The cost of dinner was $3200. There was a jacket donated from Country Sports and Sally Young won that. We had taken in $606, half $303 went to the club and $303 went to Paul Bonde. We only had 3 complaints- no dessert, no coffee and no salt-n-pepper shakers on the tables.

We welcomed new members Todd and Terry Schwefel and Mike and Barb Jorgensen.

Road and routes: Big Horn Dr.--Beaver Lane is open and signed. Do Not Drive in Bike Lane or you will be fined. Found out 18th Ave. East to Cty. J (18 th Ct.) passed and will cost the club $742 one time signing fee.

Colburn township opened whole township/ they are signing their own township with our $300 donation for signage.

South Adams Cty. Roadrunners are starting an atv club and asked Bubba to come to their meeting and talk about what needs to be done to start this club. Their meeting is at Parker Lake Lodge on January 27th @ 10:am.

Our P.R. Guy, Mike Wood went to the Waushara meeting. The 50/50 brought in $185. $93 went to the club, $92 went to winner Terry Schwefel, a new member tonight. Congratulations and welcome.

Our next meeting will be Thursday February 15 at the Spot in the Woods.

Our next board meeting will be at Mo's Feb.8th at 6:pm.

Darren Tolley GPS ed trails, there is map money. Also when maps are made, we had a suggestion that in the laws we should squeeze in about staying out of bike lanes which was a very good idea.
